Bird Description
Rare and declining in E, fairly common in S. E. birds found in scrubby vegetation, s. birds in drier areas with mesquite and other trees. It moves purposefully around branches, swishing its tail from side to side like a gnatcatcher. ID: Slightly smaller than CAWR with a slimmer build and a long tail often held spread. Gray underneath, dull brown-gray above, lacking warmer tones of CAWR. Very rare out of range.
