Bird Description
Uncommon and local in rocky areas with oaks, notably Edwards Plateau, TX. Small and active, tough to see but definitely worth the effort. White underparts with yellow flanks, green upperparts with 2 wing bars. The dark head pattern with bold white spectacles make this bird very striking. Head is black in ♂, gray in ♀/imm. Song a warbling twitter.
