Bird Description

Uncommon in arid rocky countryside with cactus or bushes. Very rare in E. Usually on the groung feeding, often in pairs, but perches on bushes or rocks. Can be quite tame. Song: 2 clear notes followed by a trill. ID: Face pattern and large black bib make ID straightforward. Juv: plumage often held into fall and can confuse: look for streaked breast, long bold supercilium, and dark lateral cheek stripe.
