Bird Description
Fairly common, particularly along Gulf Coast in mangroves or native hardwood hammocks. Occasional out of range. Early migrant. Similar to REVI but larger, bigger-billed, and duller. Most importantly has distinct black ‘whisker.’ At times whisker not always easy to see but always there. REVI can briefly show a hint of one. Browner eye. Song emphatic and fast, a repeated ‘chillip chilloo.’
