Bird Description
Regular in small numbers on Dry Tortugas; rare elsewhere. Sometimes seen from shore but often misidentified as NOGA. Sits on buoys, channel markers, etc. ID: As with other boobies, smaller, slimmer, and longer-tailed than NOGA. Stiff wingbeats. All ages have uniform dark brown upperparts and throat, contrasts with clean white lower breast and underwing in adults. Younger birds show less contrast.
