Brown Creeper
Certhia americana
BRCR
Order: Passeriformes | Family: Certhiidae (Treecreepers)

Bird Description
Fairly common in woodland but easily overlooked. Very quiet; listen for kinglet-like call. Creeps quietly up tree-trunks, much like a brown-and-white mouse with a long, spiky tail. Usually starts at tree base, working up and wrapping around tree and along branches before dropping back to ground or a new tree to start all over again. ID: Behavior alone is usually all you need. Small, quite slim with a long spiky tail and very fine-based, downcurved bill. Underparts white, intricately marbled upperparts with lines in wings.
