Very rare w. visitor. From very similar PUFI by larger size with more elongated look, slimmer-necked and flatter-headed with longer bill. Primary projection also longer. ? has brightest red on crown. Streaked undertail coverts and white eyering, both lacking in PUFI. Squeaky disyllabic call.
