Extremely rare Eurasian species. Similar to BWTE in size and shape with plumage in female types also similar. Not surprisingly most records are of males, typically in spring. Females best picked out by horizontal cheek stripe (GWTE can show this, particularly in fall). Upperwing pattern as BWTE but duller.
