Bird Description
Uncommon and localized around Edwards Plateau, TX in oak/juniper-clad hills. Very early migrant arriving on breeding grounds in Mar. A close cousin of BTGW and easy to overlook as BTGW. Song is deeper and slower. In all plumages is darker-backed. Dark is restricted to eyeline rather than ear coverts. ♀/imm: duller with yellowish throat and dark olive back. BTGW is scarce migrant only in this area. White vent.
