Bird Description

Uncommon in W. Very rare in E. Uncommon w. counterpart of INBU with which it sometimes hybridizes. Same size, shape, and behavior. Similar call, but LAZB's song slightly higher-pitched and faster. Ad ? br: striking blue head, orange breast, and bold wing bars. Much duller in fall with brown fringes to lighter blue upperparts. Ad ?/1st-w: from similar INBU by lack of streaking on orange-buff across breast; fringes to coverts and tertials broader and bolder; throat often grayer and lacking hint of malar.
