Bird Description
Uncommon in dry barren prairie. Usually found in summer by ?'s superb display flight. ID: Ad ?: striking. Ad ? nonbr/ad ?/1st-yr: all similar. First impression is of a pale bird with a bland head pattern. Differences from similar CCLO include 'T' tail pattern, long primary projection and wing point, broad-based, usually pink bill. Median coverts are rufous in ?, brown with buff fringes in ?, CCLO has dark centers with pale fringes. Call a dry rattle.
