Bird Description
Uncommon in Rio Grande Valley, usually in mesquite woods. A flycatcher that appears more like WAVI. Often sits upright. Bland with short, thick bill, bushy crest, indistinct supercilium on otherwise plain grayish face. Most often heard, a ringing ‘peer’ gives its presence away. Often in mixed flocks.
