Bird Description
Breeds in remote NE Canada. Very rare, mostly fall in NE. Prefers open countryside, where it hops on the ground looking for food. Often tilts forward as it stands on rocks, posts, and other perches. Long-legged and pot-bellied, stands tall when it stops moving. A buff bird, it sports a surprisingly bold white rump with inverted black ‘T’ at tip. Nonbr ♂ as ♀. Most are juvs with pale-fringed coverts.
