Rare visitor from W. Small with disproportionately long, pointed wings. White underparts extend onto rump and above eye, both features conspicuous at distance. Adult: clean white underparts, violet-green upperparts, and duller on head and wings. ♀: often duller. Juv: brown rather than green.
