Very rare resident along Rio Grande, TX, in long grasses or reeds. Occurs in small flocks. Tiny with stubby bill and spiky tail. Buffy underparts with pale neck sides and 2 wing bars. ♂: black-capped with dark upperparts. ♀: like ♀ INBU.
