Very rare in s. FLl and s. TX. Feeds on or close to ground on grass seeds. Tiny and fat with a big head but fairly short tail. Olive above, grayer below with a black conical bill. ♂: unmistakable black-and-yellow face. ♀: nondescript. Some show just pale eyelids, others a trace of ♂ face pattern.
