Yellow-throated Vireo
Vireo flavifrons
YTVI
Order: Passeriformes | Family: Vireonidae (Vireos, Shrike-Babblers, and Erpornis)

Bird Description
Fairly common in deciduous forest, particularly scattered oaks and near water. Stays high and moves slowly, even for a vireo. Often heard first, slower, sweeter slurred phrases than other vireos, changing in pitch — ‘seeya later’ or ‘see you see me,’ maybe the only giveaway. Once in sight, it is striking. ID: Large and long but with sturdy upper body. Bright yellow breast, throat, and spectacles distinctive. Green head and mantle contrast nicely with gray lower back and scapulars. Wing bars are always neat and bold. Ages and sexes similar.
